The Voice in the Wilderness is a modern portrait of John the Baptist. The  image portrays John with a series of doors coming from different paths in earthly directions,  merging to make straight the way of the Lord, the pathway to eternal life.  John reveals a new direction to salvation.  He takes sinners from the polluted world, encourages them to repent and be baptized.  John’s wound, in the image, represents his personal sacrifice for the truth, opening the door and showing us the “Light of the World”.
